August Friday Favorites

"Does my family use this item often enough to keep it?"

This is one question you can use when deciding whether or not to keep something in your home. I love to use the example of a strawberry huller. With the help of other questions like, "does my family hull a lot of strawberries?" and "does this product work well for our household?" the question "can something else do the same job?" will let you decide easier if you want to keep that strawberry huller. I use a spoon or a knife and free up the space that the strawberry huller would take up.

With that in mind, each month for the rest of 2020, I will be sharing some of my favorite items with you. These are products that I love and use and are worth the valuable real estate they take up in my home. The products will vary from organizational tools to things I just like that are functional. (At this time nothing is sponsored or an ad.)

Today's favorites are:

1. Postage Stamps & Note Cards - I spent some time over the summer being reminded of the importance of a hand-written note. It communicates thought, care, and so much more. Set aside your excuses and send a little note to someone to brighten their day. It might just brighten your day as well! (My favorites stamps said "From me to you" (no longer in print) but how adorable are these scratch and sniff stickers???)

2. Plant Pots - It's no secret that I like plants! Pots come in so many colors, sizes, shapes, and materials. Terra cotta pots are great if your plants need good drainage as most do. And a tray to catch the water? Yes!

3. Odor Remover Bar - I used to think this was a joke. How on earth can rubbing my hands on a wet bar of stainless steal possibly rid my finger of that onion smell when soap and water couldn't? Well, my friends, IT DOES! I keep one of these under my sink and every time I cut onion, I wash my hands with it. Every single time I check to make sure it works because it's just that hard to believe. And every single time it works!

4. Drywall hooks - These little guys are magic for hanging items on drywall walls! No tools required. Just press the pointed side into the wall, twist and push, and you are left with a hook to hang your pictures on the wall securely. Genius! Need to remove it? Still no tools required, just pull.

I would love to hear what YOUR favorite things are! Leave them in the comments!
