Creating Zones for Maintenance - Refrigerator Edition

Do you often find that food goes bad in your fridge before you get to eat it? It happens to the best of us. Want to know one way to help keep that from happening as much without meal planning? Yes, meal planning will always be my number one way to recommend against food waste (and time waste, and money waste, and sanity waste) but this tip will help too!

Create zones in your fridge!

Creating zones in your home makes it so much easier to find things and to put them away. For example, socks in the sock drawer, books on the bookshelf, and food in the fridge. But wait, you can do even better. Food in the fridge is fabulous, of course, but if you don't know what food is where, it can easily get lost and spoil.

Here are some zones you may want to consider for your fridge:

Fruit
Veggies
Meat (if it’s raw, try using a small bin to keep it away from other foods)
Cheese
Condiments (you may make more zones here: international, salad dressings, etc)
Drinks
Meal Prep
Leftovers

Labeling the zones you come up with will help top it off making it easier for everyone to find things in the fridge. This will also help in keeping the food waste to a minimum!
