FAQs: Will you run away scared from my house?

I often get the same questions from people I talk with about being a professional organizer. Whether it is someone I’m meeting for the first time, a potential client, or a friend trying to understand what I do, they all ask the same questions. This one is probably the most dear to my heart because it gets to the root of who I am and how I can help.

Do you remember those “what people think I do… what I think I do… what I really do” memes that went around a while back? Well, I tried to find one for Professional Organizers and the only on I could find wasn’t right at all for me. So I made my own. You’ll notice that what potential clients think I do is “run away screaming.”

Q: Will you run away scared from my house?

I get it. You are overwhelmed in your home under your piles of things. You are embarrassed to the point of not having people over because you think the way you feel on the inside is how it will make others feel too. In some cases, that may be true. Fortunately, this is what I choose to do. I choose to go into the piles and chaos with you to help you find peace and freedom from that chaos.

Where you see a paralyzing disaster, I see great potential. I feel more like a kid in a candy shop when I see your spaces.

After years of being in and out of houses I have never run away screaming from a home. My goal is to make sure that you get the best help that is available. It isn’t the magic wand that some people think it is. There is work that has to happen both in your home and in your head but it is worth it to have the breathing space to enjoy life more fully.

So will I run away scared from your house? Absolutely not. I can see past the chaos to the finished product and do so with delight! I have worked with people in all stages of clutter and am happy to walk with you in your consultation to make sure I am the best person to help you find peace and freedom in your home.
